Back in September I enrolled in some business classes for women entrepreneurs through Bad Girl Ventures.

“Bad Girl Ventures in an educational and micro-financing organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting women entrepreneurs in all the key elements of their business. BGV enables female entrepreneurs to build and sustain well managed, profitable businesses through guidance, education and access to capital.”

During the nine week course I was able to make a business plan and learn about accounting, marketing, pricing, legal structuring and networking. At the beginning of each class we stood up and gave our 30-second pitch. If you can believe it, I crashed and burned pretty bad the first time but by the end of the course I could muster through. I’m not a public speaker by any means.

Running a photography business is more than just taking pretty pictures. I really want to challenge myself to take it to the next level and make a career out of it. I’m looking forward to 2014 and utilizing all my BGV knowledge. I’m proud to say I’m a Bad Girl and can’t wait to join the alumni group to stay in contact with this great group of inspiring women.
