I'm not a writer... like at all, but I still love to blog. I love to see how all of the photos from a wedding or session come together. It's like a visual story of the day.
EXPLORE
For five long years my friends have been trying to make their son Will a big brother. About two years ago they decided to look into adoption. We’ve had to take a lot of pictures over the last two years to add to their adoption profile to keep it up to date. They received the phone call that they had been chosen back in March and I was one of the first people to be called. I feel so honored that they wanted me to be with them when they met their new addition.
After weeks of anticipation the due date had arrived. I was on my way to meet them at their hotel the night before the baby was due. It had rained on the way and I was driving by the hospital anyway so I thought I’d take some sunset photos to add to the slideshow I was planning to make. When I got to the parking lot and turned around to see a rainbow pointing right to the maternity ward of the hospital I had tears in my eyes. Not just any rainbow but a double rainbow. My hands were shaking as I was snapping away. What a sign from God that everything was about to be ok. Years of stress, worry and waiting were over.
Here’s the exact moment they met their son for the first time. Then he stuck his hand up as if to wave and say hi. Well hello Maxwell James.
Then it was off to the nursery for all the usual tests a newborn goes through.
Will was over the moon with excitement. He couldn’t wait to hold him.
When everyone was finally home and getting settled in I stopped by for some family pictures. Max is by far the easiest newborn I’ve ever worked with. He was just so relaxed. I just love this photo with him smiling. I might have to frame it for myself too.
Welcome home Max!
So happy for you! Those are great pictures! couldn’t stop the tears 🙂
