I'm not a writer... like at all, but I still love to blog. I love to see how all of the photos from a wedding or session come together. It's like a visual story of the day.

Maggie & Trent at The Axe-Handle

My goddaughter is getting married! I think this is my first wedding where I’ll have a part in the ceremony and be included in family photos. Hopefully their July wedding isn’t a 95 degree day. Fingers crossed for that one. lol

I wish I could take credit for having the vision for Maggie and Trent’s engagement session but this was all Maggie’s doing. We first shot at The Axe-Handle. The empty bar, exposed brick and natural light from the windows were exactly the vibe they were looking for. I just love these old buildings in small Ohio towns that have been rehabbed into something modern like a gastro pub.

For a totally different look from the bar, we headed to The Swinging Bridge at Bluffton University Nature Preserve. I’ve always wanted to check this spot out and today was the day. I have to admit that the bridge made me nervous. Not enough side railing for me. Good thing I could just shoot from the bank with my zoom lens.

After seeing all of the thought and details that went into their engagement shoot, I’m even more excited for their wedding day. I just have to make it through winter first. Ugh.
